Ju 87 Stuka in action - Aircraft No. 73

Ju 87 Stuka in action - Aircraft No. 73
Brian Filley | 1900-01-01 00:00:00 | Squadron/Signal Publications | 58 | Military Science
This "In Action" volume provides an in-depth look at the history of a specific / aircraft. Many aspects of its design, development, and service use are covered. / Photos are used extensively. Three-view drawings illustrate differences between / each design variant. A colour centerfold shows the different types of markings / and paint schemes of that aircraft. / These books are excellent references for modelers wishing to document a scale / project or as a source of ideas for colour schemes or detailing. / Each is 50 to 58 pages and measures 11" x 8.25". / / INCLUDES: Covered is the Junkers Ju-87 Stuka dive bomber, a major instrument / of the German Blitzkrieg against Poland and Western Europe. Nevertheless, it / proved woefully inadequate against British Spitfires and Hurricanes during / the Battle of Britain. In addition to the early Ju-87B this book covers / the more streamlined Ju-87D used later in the war, plus the heavily-armed / Ju-87G tankbuster. / Entered 6/20/94 RDT
Reviews
This is one of the better Squadron/Signal Publications books. Lots of line drawings and photos. 60 pages. Color spread in the center sheet depicting 10 paint and insignia schemes. The Standard paint scheme, the Desert scheme used in the Africa campaign, and the white paint scheme used on the Eastern Front are all depicted. The volume does a good job of showing the development of the type from the "A" model through the "H" model. Recommended for scale model documentation.

Product Description:

Despite the growth of interest in the study of terrorism since 9/11, terrorism analysts rarely take a multidisciplinary approach to the subject. This leaves a number of terrorism's characteristics to be explored in new and unique ways. Terrorism's Unanswered Questions brings together scholars from the fields of criminology, international relations, law, political science, security studies, and sociology to answer several important questions where consensus has yet to be reached. Each chapter offers a new approach to the question asked that is both unique and challenges popular thought. The result is an original work appealing to a broad audience of scholars and students who desire to develop a better understanding of terrorism's characteristics.

In the wake of the September 11, 2001, attacks on the United States terrorism became a topic for the masses to explore, rather than the hidden purview of analysts and scholars tucked away at the CIA or in the ivory tower. Now, more than five years later, there remains much to be discovered about terrorism and its causes. This volume takes a look at some of terrorism's unanswered questions. How do we define terrorism? What threat does the United States face from weapons of mass destruction? Why has international law failed to stop terrorism? These are but three of the questions addressed in this volume. While the editors do not claim to have all of the answers, they do promise a view of terrorism not seen before.

The 7th U-Boat Flotilla -'Wegener'- was formed in Kiel in June 1938 with six boats, only one of which survived operationally to the end of the war. Early war action from Kiel changed completely after the fall of France when the flotilla moved to St. Nazaire, where it would remain until the Allied advances led its remaining boats to move to Norway.

Roman Battle Tactics 109BC-AD313 (Elite)
Ross Cowan | 2007-07-24 00:00:00 | Osprey Publishing | 64 | Military Science
Elite 155
Author: Ross Cowan
Illustrator: Adam Hook
About this book
How, exactly, did Rome become master of the ancient world? This book examines and illustrates the tactics employed by the legions of late Republican and early Imperial Rome, from the evidence o f ancient writers. The greatest military machine in the Western world for at least four centuries, the Roman Army was the foundation of the Western military tradition, and its doctrines were central to the later revival of trained, drilled professional armies. Here the evidence is discussed in clear detail, and brought to life with battle plans and full colour interpretations of tactical scenarios.

Bradford A. Lee,Karl F. Walling | 2003-08-01 00:00:00 | Routledge | 288 | Military Science
One of three volumes in honour of the teaching and scholarship of the late Michael I. Handel, this book details the universal logic of strategy and the ability of liberal-democratic governments to address this logic rationally.
Treating war as an extension of politics, the diverse contributors (drawn from the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and Israel) explore the difficulties in matching strategy to policy, especially in free societies.
